Our
passion

Energy efficient lighting is no longer enough

Most people already know how to save energy with energy efficient lighting

Now we need to make our visual environments work for people too.

At VERAM, we look beyond lighting to understand the entire visual environment and how it affects human health, comfort and performance.

Lighting, daylight, screens, glare, flicker, luminance, reflections, visual complexity and workspace design all interact. People also differ in how they respond to these factors.

A visual environment that works well for one person may not work equally well for another.

The result can be eye fatigue, headaches, visual discomfort and musculoskeletal symptoms that affect both wellbeing and work performance.

This is where VERAM comes in.

We help organizations understand, assess and improve their visual environments to create workplaces that work better for both people and business.

Healthy people.
Better performance.
A win win.

What We Offer

We help organizations create visual environments that work for people.

At VERAM, we look beyond lighting. We assess how lighting, daylight, screens, glare, flicker, luminance, reflections, visual complexity and workspace design interact with human needs.

Our services help organizations understand, assess and improve the visual environment to support human health, comfort and performance.

VERAM Q&A

Have a visual environment problem? Let's look at it together.

Sometimes you do not need a full assessment to get started.

Bring us a question, a workplace challenge, a photo or a specific case. We begin with a short introduction to the topic and then discuss your case in a live Q&A, free of charge.

The sessions can address different environments and challenges, including offices, schools, healthcare, screen work, glare, eyestrain, headaches and migraine, flicker, daylight and visual discomfort.

Each session starts with a short lecture that explains why the issue matters, how common it is, how it can be identified and what can be done about it. We then look at your questions and real life cases together.

A simple way to start understanding your visual environment.

VERAM Visual Environment Consulting

Understand. Assess. Improve.

Every visual environment is different, and people experience visual environments differently.

We help organizations identify and address factors that may affect visual comfort, health and performance.

Our approach can include examining lighting, daylight, screens, glare, flicker, luminance, reflections, visual complexity and workspace design. Using the VERAM approach, we can also assess people's experiences of eyestrain, headaches, visual discomfort and other symptoms related to the visual environment.

We work with your organization and, when needed, with lighting designers, architects, manufacturers and other specialists to develop solutions that work for both people and the organization.

Where appropriate, we reassess the environment and people's experiences to understand whether the changes have made a difference.

The goal is not simply better lighting. The goal is a visual environment that works better for people.
